I have not worked with Progressed Charts very much. However, I started realizing how I am really attracted to Leos as friends. Then, I realized that most of my Progressed planets are in Leo and in the 10th house, the house that shows its glory to the world *Cough*. I thought you might like to learn about Progressed planets. Check out what your Progressed chart is doing and write on my Comment Form. We will learn together. I have the Progressed chart of my friend as an example. One can make a Progressed Chart alone, as in this case. One can make a Progressed Chart that has a synastry with one’s natal chart. In other words, one can see the natal chart in comparison with the Progressed Chart. That is probably a better idea but I did not request that from my friend, so we will work with what we have.
For my friend, I do not know all of his natal planets. I do know some, so will work with what I know. In the Progressed Chart, everything changes. The Ascendent changes as do the elements. Hence, we can try on a new persona. For me, I have a Libra ASC in the natal chart and I have a Progressed Scorpio ASC. The Libra ASC may seek peace and harmony at the expense of her own needs. Libra ASC has many wonderful traits but she may be too please pleasing.
The Scorpio ASC is nothing like this. It will not allow another person close until that person proves his mettle. The Scorpio ASC is suspicious but this is not, always, negative. It is wise not to be a puff pastry, as can be the case with the Libra ASC. I can feel the strength and power of the Scorpio ASC as I have more personal power. I will not spend time or energy with people whom I can see want to cause trouble. I will walk away. If I stay, it is to have a little fun at their expense: classic Scorpio ASC. Think Michael Corleone.
With the Ascendents, the neighboring ones are quite different. Hence, the Scorpio ASC is very different from the Libra. The Sagittarius Ascendent is very different from the Scorpio. The Capricorn Ascendent is very different than the Aquarius. Hence, we can try on a persona which is quite different and this is nice.
With the Progressed Chart, the planets change Signs. The planets change Houses, too. Hence, one can experience emphasis on another sphere of life than one’s natal chart. For me, I had several planets in my 10th house in the natal. I had Mars, Uranus and Jupiter. However, in the Progressed Chart, I have most of my planets. Hence, for this period of life, career and my role in the greater society is highlighted.
The Progressed planet I have noticed the most is Venus. My natal Venus is in Gemini. My Progressed Venus is in Leo. Venus is Gemini is kind of a masculine Venus in that she is kind of male like. Let me explain, Gemini is a masculine sign. Each sign is either masculine or feminine, so this is not unique. However, Gemini is the planet of the intellect. Gemini is very logical and rational. The Gemini Venus is not a frilly or girly Venus as is the Cancer Venus. It would likely wear a navy wool blazer, oxford shirt and chinos. If not a masculine vibe, it would give off an androgynous one.
I noticed long before I considered Progressed planets that I liked soft sweater dresses with heels or boots. I felt more feminine. I felt as if I could let loose a little bit in my dress. Leo venus is the Glam Venus. It struts its stuff. Diamond would be it’s gem. Gemini’s gem may be a classic strand of pearls or a demure gold rope chain. Leo Venus would ooze femininity. Gemini Venus would ooze androgyny. Hence, I felt the effects of the Leo Venus before I knew why.
For me, I feel the effects of a Progressed Leo Sun in that I can stand up, be confident and be counted. I feel the effects of the Scorpio ASC and the Leo Venus. I feel the effects of the huge 10th house stellium as the center of my life now is career. That is my story with the Progressed Charts.
I will look at that of my friend, now. His natal ASC is Pisces. His Progressed ASC is Aries. This is about as different as they come. Pisces is very gentle and retiring. Aries takes center stage. I am sure that he feels the shift. His Stellium was in Leo, previously. Now, it is in Virgo. I imagine he is much more attentive to details and more grounded on the earth. His natal Venus was in Leo. His Progressed Venus is in Virgo. Virgo Venus is very fussy when it comes to a mate. It is very fussy when it comes to tastes and smells, too. One of my best friends is a Virgo Venus. If he tastes a hint of baking soda in food, he will get sick to his stomach. This is classic Virgo Venus. If my friend changes the chart to a Natal and Progressed, I will write more.
