The T Square and Grand Cross–Why They Are So Hard To Figure Out?

It takes me several hours to study and explain a T square or a Grand Cross to a client.

The reason is that there are many layers.

Each layer must be studied.

Each layer must be added to the whole.

At the end, there should be a concise and practical summary.

What good is astrology if it is a bunch of esoteric mush, from which the client emerges confused.

That is my goal in writing my articles and doing charts– make it practical.

I have discussed the importance of the HOUSES in the T square and Grand Cross.

The houses show us the DOMAINS in which the T square and Grand Cross will manifest.

It would be very different if one leg of the Grand Cross were in the 7th House or the 8th.

It would be very different if one leg of the Grand Cross were in the 1st or the 2nd.

It would be very different if one leg of the Grand Cross were in the 11th or the 12th.

That is just a sense of how different a Grand Cross would be based on houses.

Now, let’s look at planets.

First of all, we have the IDENTITY of the planet.

The Moon has a certain identity. It is one’s heart.

The Sun is one’s ego, central identity.

Mars is one’s drive and how one goes after one’s goals.

Each planet would IGNITE a certain house.

Each planet would be in a certain SIGN.

Mars in Scorpio is very different than Mars in Cancer.

The Moon in Scorpio is very different than the Moon in Cancer or Pisces or Virgo.

I hope you are starting to get the picture of the multi layers of the Grand Cross.

Then, we have the nature of the squares and oppositions.

The squares THWART.

A thwart would be if you wanted to lose weight and you wanted to eat a whole cheese cake. You could not do both.

The opposition would be if you ate the whole cheesecake one day and fasted the next. You did this, again and again, in an unbreakable cycle.

It takes me five days to do a natal chart.

I think you can see why this would be the case because the Grand Cross, itself, would take several hours.
