Chiron is the planet of pain. Everyone has a planet of pain. It is in a House, which shows us the life area in which we will have pain. Mine is in the fourth house. This is quite accurate because the focal point of my pain is my mother. One can learn a great deal about oneself from the simple study of the House of Chiron. I have many articles on this, so will not discuss this now.
For this article, we are exploring Chiron aspects. The conjunction is, always, the most powerful aspect. This is the case because of the PROXIMITY of the planets. The planets are on top of one another, as in an exact conjunction or next to one another, as in a close conjunction, which is from one degree to five degrees.
Hence, Chiron in a close conjunction would show us an intense amount of pain. The specific nature of the pain could be seen by the PLANET which conjuncts Chiron. I will cite some examples. If Chiron conjuncts the Moon, there may be pain with the mother and/or women in general. If Chiron conjuncts the Sun, there may be pain with the father and/or men, in general. If Chiron conjuncts Venus, there may be pain in love. If Chiron conjuncts Jupiter, pain may be multiplied *sigh*
With Chiron in square, we have a locked in situation. If Chiron squares the Moon, there may be pain with the mother and, often, women, in general. If Chiron squares the Sun, the latter may be true of men. If Chiron squares Venus, there may be pain with love and it may seem as if it is impossible to mend. The square is the second hardest Chiron aspect. Chiron squares may engender a hopeless feeling.
With Chiron in opposition, the native seeks to find balance for his pain. He may try too hard to heal his pain. Then, he may give up and not try at all. The opposition is like a see-saw. One side is down and the other side is up. The opposition does not allow for a middle point due to the polarity, which defines it.
Let’s use the example of Chiron oppose the Moon. This is pain with the mother and women, in general, usually. The native may try very hard to heal these relationships and then give up. After she gives up, she may feel guilty and try hard, again.
With Venus oppose Chiron, the native may try hard to love without feeling pain. Then, when pain strikes, she may hide herself away. Then, the cycle may repeat. There may be a sense of hopelessness with the Chiron opposition.
With Chiron in trine, which I have, the pain is still there but one seems COMPELLED to help others. It is a pain that is more usable, it seems to me. I have a Grand Trine of the Ascendant, Venus and Chiron. My life is about helping people using the pain I endured. Honestly, I wish I never had the pain. However, in more spiritual moments, I know I had the pain for a purpose and I must use it for a purpose. I feel a great sense of meaning when I do.
With Chiron trine Venus, one uses warmth and love to help others heal. With Chiron trine Mars, one has a passion to help others using one’s own experience. With Chiron trine the MC, one may have a career in the helping fields.
Chiron trine the Sun would enable the person to use his ego strength to help others.
With Chiron trine Mercury, one could use his intellect and powers of communication to help others.
The sextiles functions in the same manner as does the trine but the trine is an unearned gift. The sextile demands some manner of struggle before it can be accessed.
I was asked the question of how to overcome Chiron squares and oppositions. I do not think they can be overcome, per se. Let’s say there is a beautiful piece of antique art. It may not be in pristine condition. Perhaps, it’s flaws give it character and even more value. However, at the juncture of the flaw may lie a weakness in the structure.
I see Chiron hard aspects in this manner.
I have tried very hard to run from my Chiron. I, recently, stopped, when a friend told me about a sermon on flaws. Your flaws ARE the point at which you interface with God. Your flaws are a big part of how God uses you. Your flaws allow for being humble.
To add to this, every chart has several gifts. When I do charts, I spend a lot of time on the gifts, such that I hope the person feels like a superstar, as well as a flawed human
